Vegetable Garden
Established in 2018

If interested in helping with planting and upkeep or
would like a compost bucket, please contact SVdP (see below)
The St. Vincent de Paul vegetable garden has flourished in the past few years.
We have grown over 500 lbs of food each year to give back to the local community.
Composting program has been quite successful. If you would like to contribute, we can provide you with 5 gallon container for your vegetable peels and fruit skins, so that you don’t have to make daily or weekly trips to drop off your composting.
The dirt surrounding the Poinsettias from Christmas will be used for compost. This is very rich soil that complements our compost activity.
Volunteers are always needed, we do most of our work on Monday and Friday mornings when the food pantry is open. Since gardening is an ongoing chore, we are glad for any time our volunteers can spend pruning and watering. If you don’t have experience growing veggies, we can show you how. We grow a wide variety of vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, squash as well as herbs.
